At the begining of the year it was some terrorist threats, that attacked the 2008 Dakar rally. Although this threats were bootless, they were benefic to us and hungarians. The rally organizers, Amaury Sport Organisation from France, resolved that the Paris - Dakar 2008 rute to be Budapest - Baia Mare - Sovata - Miercurea Ciuc - Debrecen. This event will start on april 20. This race will align 140 cars, 150 motorcycles and 40 trucks. The champions of 2007 will be there too, Cyril Despres (motorcycles), Stephane Peterhansel (cars) and Hans Stacey (trucks).
This is a competion for all the teams to complete the mediatic assignments before the sponsors. It won`t be any entry taxes. Romania was included in a invented concept with regionals competions. said Gabriel Nicolae, member of Team Dakar Romania
I`m really glad that happened. I think I will go to this event. I will not say anything about their decision if that brings Romania in the game. We hope so that the competitors will resists to Carpati coldness.
