A few days ago was lighted up the torch for the Beijing Olympic Games, which will take place between 8 and 24 august. The ceremony took place at Olympia, the city where the Olympic Games debuted. The torch will arrive on march 31st at Beijing and then it will start going around the world. In range will be 135 citiesand will include Everest top from Tibet, where they will try to attend the 8848 top. The torch will be carried by 21 780 people on almost 140 000 km in 130 days. I hope that the situation between China and Tibet will not affect the olympic games. If you don`t know what is going on I will tell you. Tibet is trying to obtain the independence after 50 years of chinese occupation, probable influenced by what happened in Kosovo. The riots already made a few dead and many injured people. Though I hope that the two parts will have respect for the olympic games and nothing will happen. The chinese officials will make 200 000 copies of the olympic torch and it will sell it with 400 $ each, It`s not normal but every penny is welcomed.

For this big event which take place every 4 years, the chinese builted some stadiums. The biggest one it will be called Bird`s Nest and will have a 100 000 people capacity. The gates of this beautiful stadium will be opened at the end of april.

Another big and interesting building will be Water Cube. The swimming centre from Beijing will be the host for the swimming and jumps tentatives from the Olyimpic Games, where 17 000 people can enter. All project costed 136 million EURO.

The China Television Centre (CCTV) will have a new headquarter. The two towers will have 45 respective 51 floors and will be united by a curl with right angles. The project will cost 308 million EURO and will be finished this year.

The Shangai Financial Center will be a sky-scraper will have 101 floors and will be declared the highest building from China. The building will include offices, a museum, some malls and a five stars hotel. The project will be ready at the end of this year.

The residential complex The Commune will include houses proiected by 12 of the best architects in Asia. The complex was designed by the two immobiliar experts Zhang Xin si Pan Shiyi and will be near the Chinese Great Wall. Those two experts alocated 1 million $ for each architect. The first phaze was terminated in 2002 and the rest will be completed in 2010. More HERE

Dongtan Eco City will have a surface similar with the one of Manhattan and will be the first city in the world that will autosustain. The island called Chongming creates a special world, untouched by the infernal noise and the masive poluation form the modern cities. For the time being, the place is one of the most important sanctuary for the migratory birds. Five years from now the work will include the purification system implementation, the garbage management and the regenerable energy systems. The project will be completed in 2040.

Another residential complex will be Lynked Hybrid. The complex will be placed in Beijing and will have 700 apartments. Here will be constructed the biggest geotermal heating and cooling systems, which will stabilize the complex temperature, formated from eight buildings, tied at the 20st floor by a ring of comercial spaces (cafe, luandry). A pipe system incorporated in the complex floor will pump the water from 100 metres to all 700 apartments and the instalations will be a big radiator in the summer and a big ventilator in the winter.

The Donghai Bridge, the first bridge over the see in China, which unites Shangai with Yangshan Island was officialy oppened in 2005. The last phaze the 32 km bridge will be completed in 2010. The project costed 1.2 million $.

The International Beijing Airport becomed the biggest airport of the world at the end of last month by finishing terminal 3. This airport has the capacity to be the host of 85 million people every year. The project costed 2.7 million $.
